As Nancy and I were making our way around Charlottetown deciding on spots for photos, she suggested Fanningbank, which is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of PEI. It's a gorgeous spot with a lovely garden (albeit one that wasn't blooming just yet), and I couldn't think of a more perfect spot to shoot this floral dress that I snapped up from the clearance rack at Old Navy for $8. I accessorized it with a blue Smart Set belt and finished with the ubiquitous nude wedges (can you tell I only brought a limited number of pairs of shoes on my trip out for the day to shoot with Nancy?) from Spring. I'm just lucky that they pretty much go with anything.

Lot 65 x Nancy Thomas Photography - Peake's & Stripes

This is the second outfit that Nancy and I shot at Peake's Wharf in Downtown Charlottetown. It was strange to be at what is normally such an insanely busy spot when it was abandoned and boarded up for the off-season. I got this dress from Forever 21 a while back and it is so comfortable, I wish now I'd gotten it in mint as well as blue, although sadly it's no longer available. I have a serious problem when it comes to striped dresses, I have a ridiculous number of variations but I am somehow powerless to resist them. In any case, this is one of my favourites, and I paired it with my go-to wedges of late, a nude pair from Call it Spring.

Dress: Forever 21 Belt: Smart Set Wedges: Call it Spring

This is one of my favourite summery dresses that has been hiding in my closet until warmer weather finally arrived. I felt it needed a little extra pop of colour, and then realized how very patriotically American I looked in this ensemble once having added the red belt. But they're also the colours of the Union Jack, and since my background is British I guess that works too! The tie on this dress had the pesky habit of blowing around in the wind off the water, hence the awkward unwanted accessory in these photos, ha.

For the third in my latest series shot by Nancy Thomas Photography, we decided to head down to the boardwalk along the water in downtown Charlottetown. It was a gorgeous day and lots of people were out enjoying the sunshine like Nancy and I. It's finally feeling beautifully springy on this Island and so I am trying to get outside as much as possible to enjoy it. The boardwalk is really the perfect place to do so, it's lovely along the water with a cool breeze blowing and the smell of salt in the air. Walking there is always one of my favourite things to do, I must say.

Before I get back to regular outfit posts, I thought I'd share a few "New In" items that I've added to my wardrobe recently. I've been looking for the perfect nude heel for a while, and fell in love with the McCurdy pair from Call it Spring while I was in Ottawa, so I snapped them up on the spot, and am already wearing them with everything.

With a Forever 21 gift card in my pocket, I picked up some fantastic printed bottoms - watercolour print jeans and gingham skinnies. Not to mention some fabulous polka dot shorts that are sure to get tons of wear this spring and summer. I'm actually tempted to pair them with these dotted heels from the folks at Ruche. Too many polka dots? Never.

I'm heading out on this sunny afternoon to snap some photos for a new outfit post to share with you all. Also, new projects in the works that I also can't wait to share, so keep your eyes peeled much excitement to come in the next week or two!
