Island Snapshots v. 3: Thunder Cove

Last weekend on a cool spring evening I took a walk along the lonely coastline at Thunder Cove, one of my favourite places to be in the world. It was amazing to be the lone soul on a deserted beach with only the cries of a few shorebirds echoing over the sound of the waves meeting the sand. I walked all the way to the far point and sat on the rocks overlooking the water and just revelled in the peacefulness of it all. I do so love this Island.

You never know what peace is until you walk on the shores or in the fields or along the winding red roads of Prince Edward Island in a summer twilight when the dew is falling and the old stars are peeping out and the sea keeps its mighty tryst with the little land it loves. You find your soul then. You realize that youth is not a vanished thing but something that dwells forever in the heart.
