At Twin Shores

Monday, June 18, 2012

It was an absolutely beautiful day on PEI yesterday. Sunny and warm, but not too hot. We had a Father's Day brunch at the cottage together as a family which was lovely. My sweet niece and nephew ran around the yard blowing bubbles - too cute!

I received this pretty top from the folks over at Sugarlips on Friday. I love the pretty floral print, the flowy shape and how light and comfortable it is. I foresee it becoming a summer staple, especially considering that none of the libraries I work in are air conditioned, so I'll be needing plenty of cool, pretty tanks to beat the heat.

On such a gorgeous summery day, and for an inaugural outfit post, I thought I'd highlight not only casual weekend style, but also my beautiful island. I wandered down to Twin Shores, a beach and campground near my family's cottage, back to a picture-perfect spot where I watched the sunset a few weeks ago.  Normally there are lots of people around, but luckily for me most of the campers and cottagers haven't arrived yet. Only one beachcomber wandered by while I was snapping photos and thankfully he didn't seem to mind (or even notice) me and my tripod up on the cliffs.

The sun was shining high in the sky (Which explains my squint, above. Just keepin' it real folks), and the sound of the waves lapping at the shore made me wish I had brought a blanket to lounge on and a book to read - such a perfect spot to relax. Perhaps next weekend.

Hope you all are having a fabulous Monday (unlike poor Peter)
